Mediacom Online Message Center:

I checked Snopes before posting this and did find that the statement "You might say that America is a Muslim nation" can not be verified, but the script is Fairly attributed to Pat Boon and in total, should give us pause to consider the direction our Country is taking and is this what we want. My preference would be to return to a Judeo Christian , Governed Nation where all faiths are free to be practiced and enjoyed in our country without the demand of government that one or another have or take precedent. Freedom is not a right, it is a privilege which can only be maintained through our diligence and willingness to be responsible for our selves and extend that same freedom and responsibility to each other.
May God richly bless you and those you love. Mike

"The president without a country
By Pat Boone

'We're no longer a Christian nation.' - President Barack Obama, June 2007

' America has been arrogant.' - President Barack Obama

'After 9/11, America didn't always live up to her ideals.'- President Barack Obama

'You might say that America is a Muslim nation.'- President Barack Obama, Egypt 2009

Thinking about these and other statements made by the man who wears the title of president. I keep wondering what country he believes he's president of.

In one of my very favorite stories, Edward Everett Hale's 'The Man without a Country,' a young Army lieutenant named Philip Nolan stands condemned for treason during the Revolutionary War, having come under the influence of Aaron Burr. When the judge asks him if he wishes to say anything before sentence is passed, young Nolan defiantly exclaims, 'Damn the United States ! I wish I might never hear of the United States again!'

The stunned silence in the courtroom is palpable, pulsing. After a long pause, the judge soberly says to the angry lieutenant: 'You have just pronounced your own sentence. You will never hear of the United States again. I sentence you to spend the rest of your life at sea, on one or another of this country's naval vessels - under strict orders that no one will ever speak to you again about the country you have just cursed.'

And so it was Philip Nolan was taken away and spent the next 40 years at sea, never hearing anything but an occasional slip of the tongue about America. The last few pages of the story, recounting Nolan's dying hours in his small stateroom - now turned into a shrine to the country he fore swore - never fail to bring me to tears. And I find my own love for this dream, this miracle called America , refreshed and renewed. I know how blessed and unique we are.

But reading and hearing the audacious, shocking statements of the man who was recently elected our president - a young black man living the impossible dream of millions of young Americans, past and present, black and white - I want to ask him, 'Just what country do you think you're president of?'

You surely can't be referring to the United States of America , can you? America is emphatically a Christian nation, and has been from its inception! Seventy percent of her citizens identify themselves as Christian. The Declaration of Independence and our Constitution were framed, written and ratified by Christians. It's because this was, and is, a nation built on and guided by Judeo-Christian biblical principles that you, sir, have had the inestimable privilege of being elected her president.

You studied law at Harvard, didn't you, sir? You taught constitutional law in Chicago ? Did you not ever read the statement of John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and an author of the landmark 'Federalist Papers': 'Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers - and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation - to select and prefer Christians for their rulers'?

In your studies, you surely must have read the decision of the Supreme Court in 1892: 'Our lives and our institutions must necessarily be based upon and embody the teachings of the Redeemer of mankind. It is impossible that it should be otherwise; and in this sense and to this extent our civilization and our institutions are emphatically Christian.'

Did your professors have you skip over all the high-court decisions right up till the mid 1900's that echoed and reinforced these views and intentions? Did you pick up the history of American jurisprudence only in 1947, when for the first time a phrase coined by Thomas Jefferson about a 'wall of separation between church and state' was used to deny some specific religious expression - contrary to Jefferson ' s intent with that statement?

Or, wait a minute . Were your ideas about America 's Christianity formed during the 20 years you were a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ under your pastor, Jeremiah Wright? Is that where you got the idea that ' America is no longer a Christian nation'? Is this where you, even as you came to call yourself a Christian, formed the belief that ' America has been arrogant'?

Even if that's the understandable explanation of your damning of your country and accusing the whole nation (not just a few military officials trying their best to keep more Americans from being murdered by jihadists) of 'not always living up to her ideals,' how did you come up with the ridiculous, alarming notion that we might be 'considered a Muslim nation'?

Is it because there are some 2 million or more Muslims living here, trying to be good Americans? Out of a current population of over 300 million, 70 percent of whom are Christians? Does that make us, by any rational definition, a 'Muslim nation'?

Why are we not, then, a 'Chinese nation'? A 'Korean nation'? Even a 'Vietnamese nation'? There are even more of these distinct groups in America than Muslims. And if the distinction you're trying to make is a religious one, why is America not 'a Jewish nation'? There's actually a case to be made for the latter, because our Constitution - and the success of our Revolution and founding - owe a deep debt to our Jewish brothers.

Have you stopped to think what an actual Muslim America would be like? Have you ever really spent much time in Iran ? Even in Egypt ? You, having been instructed in Islam as a kid at a Muslim school in Indonesia and saying you still love the call to evening prayers, can surely picture our nation founded on the Quran, not the Judeo-Christian Bible, and living under Shariah law. Can't you? You do recall Muhammad's directives [Surah 9:5,73] to 'break the cross' and 'kill the infidel'?

It seems increasingly and painfully obvious that you are more influenced by your upbringing and questionable education than most suspected. If you consider yourself the president of a people who are 'no longer Christian,' who have 'failed to live up to our ideals,' who 'have been arrogant,' and might even be 'considered Muslim' - you are president of a country most Americans don't recognize.

Could it be you are a president without a country?"

Mediacom Online Message Center: "This is scary !!

PLEASE WRITE YOUR SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES NOW!

This has got to be the most disturbing email we've received in a long time.....
H.J.Res.5 Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President. (111th Congress)
Wake up American’s. If this happens, here comes a Dictator. Do you want that ? Write your politicians.

H.J. Res. 5 - Repealing 22nd Amendment

Well folks, this should make your day. You have not heard this on the mainstream media, but that doesn’t mean anything. This bill was referred to the House Committee on Judiciary on 1/6/09 and then referred to the Subcommittee on Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties on 2/9/09.

(Check it out on the government websites listed below.)

==============================================

House Considers Repealing 22nd Amendment

Earlier this year, Rep. Jose Serrano, D-N.Y. introduced H. J. Res. 5, a bill that would repeal the Constitution’s 22nd Amendment which prohibits a president from being elected to more than two terms i office, thus potentially paving the way to make Barack Obama president for life. Not surprisingly, the corporate media currently caught up in Obama-mania has not covered this story.

“Will George W. Bush end up being the last true U.S. President?” asked Sher Zieve, writing for the Canadian Free Press on Januar 14. “ As I warned you on mulple times prior to the 2008 General Election,

‘Once Obama is elected, we won’t be able to get rid of him.’ Tragically, this warning is now being realized. Not only has Obama established his election-fraud organization ACORN nationwide, his adherents have now begun the process to Repeal the U.S. Constitution’s 22nd Amendment.”

See the proof on any of these websites.

Another web site to check is Snoops as even though this is true, there is more to it which makes the idea a bit less scary. I was a bit lax in checking this out before I posted it, and do apologize for what I should probably call arrogance, as I'm not happy with today's national state of affairs and sometimes get carried away with the blame game. I have Utopian Dreams but still think there is personal work and self sacrifice involved in gaining that utopia. The URL for this page is http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/termlimits.asp

I posted this on EONs blog earlier today and thought it was well worth sharing here as well We certainly need to be paying attention to our Governments Spending, the spending of Special Interest Groups as well as our Own. Lay up NOT for yourselves, Treasures on Earth. This kinda rings a bell for me. And yes, I do promote programs for increasing your financial security but I'm personally not into amassing millions but always hope for ways to help those less fortunate than I. Here's the EONs post. Today's Stimulus

My Dream Car as I seek to make my Dream a reality. 58 Chevy Impala Convertible ready to Roll....
Received a phone call today extolling the the virtues of President George W. Bush, and deriding the negative press press that he received and is still receiving regarding his terms in office. Although I personally agree with most of what was said, the reason for the call got me thinking once again about our economy and the stimulus package which he pushed for and signed, along with the blessings of President Obama, which I don't agree with. After hearing the message, recorded by Michael Reagan, I was asked to donate from 1 to 3 hundred dollars in order to pay for a full page Birthday wish ad page Thanking Him for all of the Positive things He accomplished in the USA Today newspaper, for which I would receive a photo of George etc and a copy of the add with my name included in the add. As a result of the economy and the 250.00 I'll receive as a one time Stimulus benefit, I wondered if my giving the 250.00 as my gift for the ad which would thank President Bush for his service would help in some way to Stimulate the Economy?? I decided that it would be better spent toward a payment on a New to Me car which I need to use in job seeking, thus helping the Struggling Auto Industry, who's leadership still doesn't Get it. Pay the workers with No Bonuses for the CEOs Who needs more that a Million Dollars in Salary, plus Bonuses per year in order to live and help their neighbor as well.?? Spend wisely, Invest wisely, Love and Care for those less fortunate than yourself , and Much less than a Million will get you by nicely. Peace, Love, and Charity and Prosperity will follow. Message your Body/Message your Mind

In today's often fast paced frenetic environment our minds are constantly massaged by pictures, sound and text. The pace at which this is done, however, often interferes with our comprehension of the messages we are receiving or supposed to be receiving. Some times it is necessary to relax our bodies, which includes relaxing the mind. Body massage is a proven method of doing both. From the sole's of our feet to the scalp of our heads, both physical and mental massage can enhance our ability to internalize and understand the onslaught of media material from the out side as well as our inner messages, the messages from our soul.
Prayer, Meditation, Yoga, Body Massage etc. all have proven time and again that they can transform our comprehension of ourselves and the world around us from performance that may be at or below the norm to something that is exceptional to possibly even miraculous. I hope to explore some of these techniques and ideas in greater depth in future posts and look forward to your input as to your interest in this topic and or the ways you effectively massage your body, mind and spirit or soul. Dare to Dream and then massage your Dream into reality. To your health, wealth and goal achievement.

With the help of my twin sister, I have spent the last couple weeks doing a major do over of our bath, kitchen, pantry, and dining rooms so as to better accommodate my wife's return home following bilateral knee replacement (she hasn't been in our home since December 16th, and just came home this Saturday, April 21st) also a help for me. Lots of "Stuff" has disappeared and a lot of rearranging, added to new fixtures (lighting, outlets, shower, vanity, carpet etc.) has made the whole down stairs area cleaner, neater and nicer. I still have more to do but what a wonderful beginning and a refreshing and encouraging boost to ones outlook booth physically and mentally.

This just proves the point that change can be beneficial and all of the work with my twin, and oldest sisterhas increased my love and appreciation for them as well. I think that this portion of the process is the most gratifying and again points to my belief that people and the pleasures we Share are more important than Things. Giving and sharing in the spirit of moving outside of your self and making others more important than your self make us all better people and the whole world better for it. Peace, Love, Caring and Sharing would be my thought for you in this post. I'll add some pics in an update Mike

What Fun! It looks as though the Stevens family has learned at least one of the secrets of success with in the realm of family growth and stability. I think the saying goes something like ," the family that plays together stays together". It has also been shown to be true that those individuals who take time out to play enjoy greater success and enjoyment in their vocations and avocations as well. I may be a bit behind in my planed schedule for posts but in that time lost, have enjoyed spending a bit more time with my wife as she has undergone knee replacement surgery and am able to appreciate the skill of her surgeons and the over all miracles that they help to achieve. Becky will be about 2 inches taller by the time that she is fully recovered. This is the result of the addition of the prosthesis in her femur and tibia, and then by being able to fully straiten her legs.

The heavy white parts are what was added after shaving the bone to make them even so she would have strait legs. Isn't it miraculous what they can do? Then the fortitude necessary to deal with the rehab, but in that is the belief and anticipation in the positive end result, an ingredient that is necessary for making progress in any endeavor. While accompanying Becky in this quest for a better tomorrow, we were also able to spend some time with one of Becky's former students, who now resides here in Rochester. This evening, I also invited Molly (Becky's Student) and her 4 year old adopted daughter and 28 year old daughter and grand daughter over to the motel where I'm staying, to enjoy a relaxing evening of swimming and hot tubing that was available at the motel. Such fun renewing old acquaintances. Molly Smith was formerly Molly Cowles , Parents Mr. and Mrs. RJ Cowels of Burlington. RJ was a Veterinarian in Burlington for many many years and both he and his wife Betty have been very active in our comunity, especially in the Arts. Again, and example of the positve involvment and investment in our future by those who touch our live in unexpected ways. Have a great week. Hope to visit with you again soon. Mike 58 Chevy Imp.

Getting Connected! So important for all of us and for so many of the things we might enjoy as well. Think about it, we connect our computers to a Power source and then Connect to the internet in order to Connect to so many other things; music, videos, personal aids, house hold aids, other people and other ideas and so much more. I was surprised , pleased, and blessed today to get re Connected to a friend that I had thought about only a day before, and as a result of that Connection, was able to set up an additional way to get Connected. To day, I also added PLAXO on line, an additional service through Google. It seems to have a wealth of ways to Connect you to many sites already on your computer and make that information available to those you choose, quickly and easily. Much more to learn before I say more. Moving on from the idea of Connecting, What about the Power Source. The wall socket, battery etc. , takes care of the "Things" , but we need a power source as well. For me , it is my faith. Faith in God, Faith in my fellow man, Faith, that each day something new and wonderful will happen if I encourage and let it happen. In other words, you have to have an expectation, a Dream if you will, and then you must make choices in order to make it real. Yes, sometimes things do seem to just happen, but in the larger scheme of things it takes planning and expectation. So make your expectations high and then get out there with planning and action. Dare to Dream then make it work for you. Have a Great day. 58Chevy Imp.

While thinking of a thought or inspirational message to post as a daily way to encourage or aid readers in their own search for ways to realize their Dreams or simply to enhance the day, I came across this Poem that truly sums up and provides a way to expand our scope of how Huge our dreams can be. Hope you enjoy and benefit from it as much as I did.
"
AIN'T....... ......... ...
He was just a little boy,
On a week's first day.
Wandering home from Bible school,
And dawdling on the way.

He scuffed his shoes into the grass;
He even found a caterpillar.
He found a fluffy milkweed pod,
And blew out all the 'filler.'

A bird's nest in a tree overhead,
So wisely placed up so high.
Was just another wonder,
That caught his eager eye.

A neighbor watched his zig zag course,
And hailed him from the lawn;
Asked him where he'd been that day
And what was going on.

'I've been to Bible School,'
He said and turned a piece of sod.
He picked up a wiggly worm replying,
'I've learned a lot about God.'

'M'm very fine way,' the neighbor said,
'for a boy to spend his time.'
'If you'll tell me where God is,
I'll give you a brand new dime.'

Quick as a flash the answer came!
Nor were his accents faint.
'I'll give you a dollar, Mister,
If you can tell me where God ain't.
