With the help of my twin sister, I have spent the last couple weeks doing a major do over of our bath, kitchen, pantry, and dining rooms so as to better accommodate my wife's return home following bilateral knee replacement (she hasn't been in our home since December 16th, and just came home this Saturday, April 21st) also a help for me. Lots of "Stuff" has disappeared and a lot of rearranging, added to new fixtures (lighting, outlets, shower, vanity, carpet etc.) has made the whole down stairs area cleaner, neater and nicer. I still have more to do but what a wonderful beginning and a refreshing and encouraging boost to ones outlook booth physically and mentally.
This just proves the point that change can be beneficial and all of the work with my twin, and oldest sisterhas increased my love and appreciation for them as well. I think that this portion of the process is the most gratifying and again points to my belief that people and the pleasures we Share are more important than Things. Giving and sharing in the spirit of moving outside of your self and making others more important than your self make us all better people and the whole world better for it. Peace, Love, Caring and Sharing would be my thought for you in this post. I'll add some pics in an update Mike

What Fun! It looks as though the Stevens family has learned at least one of the secrets of success with in the realm of family growth and stability. I think the saying goes something like ," the family that plays together stays together". It has also been shown to be true that those individuals who take time out to play enjoy greater success and enjoyment in their vocations and avocations as well. I may be a bit behind in my planed schedule for posts but in that time lost, have enjoyed spending a bit more time with my wife as she has undergone knee replacement surgery and am able to appreciate the skill of her surgeons and the over all miracles that they help to achieve. Becky will be about 2 inches taller by the time that she is fully recovered. This is the result of the addition of the prosthesis in her femur and tibia, and then by being able to fully straiten her legs.

The heavy white parts are what was added after shaving the bone to make them even so she would have strait legs. Isn't it miraculous what they can do? Then the fortitude necessary to deal with the rehab, but in that is the belief and anticipation in the positive end result, an ingredient that is necessary for making progress in any endeavor. While accompanying Becky in this quest for a better tomorrow, we were also able to spend some time with one of Becky's former students, who now resides here in Rochester. This evening, I also invited Molly (Becky's Student) and her 4 year old adopted daughter and 28 year old daughter and grand daughter over to the motel where I'm staying, to enjoy a relaxing evening of swimming and hot tubing that was available at the motel. Such fun renewing old acquaintances. Molly Smith was formerly Molly Cowles , Parents Mr. and Mrs. RJ Cowels of Burlington. RJ was a Veterinarian in Burlington for many many years and both he and his wife Betty have been very active in our comunity, especially in the Arts. Again, and example of the positve involvment and investment in our future by those who touch our live in unexpected ways. Have a great week. Hope to visit with you again soon. Mike 58 Chevy Imp.

Getting Connected! So important for all of us and for so many of the things we might enjoy as well. Think about it, we connect our computers to a Power source and then Connect to the internet in order to Connect to so many other things; music, videos, personal aids, house hold aids, other people and other ideas and so much more. I was surprised , pleased, and blessed today to get re Connected to a friend that I had thought about only a day before, and as a result of that Connection, was able to set up an additional way to get Connected. To day, I also added PLAXO on line, an additional service through Google. It seems to have a wealth of ways to Connect you to many sites already on your computer and make that information available to those you choose, quickly and easily. Much more to learn before I say more. Moving on from the idea of Connecting, What about the Power Source. The wall socket, battery etc. , takes care of the "Things" , but we need a power source as well. For me , it is my faith. Faith in God, Faith in my fellow man, Faith, that each day something new and wonderful will happen if I encourage and let it happen. In other words, you have to have an expectation, a Dream if you will, and then you must make choices in order to make it real. Yes, sometimes things do seem to just happen, but in the larger scheme of things it takes planning and expectation. So make your expectations high and then get out there with planning and action. Dare to Dream then make it work for you. Have a Great day. 58Chevy Imp.

While thinking of a thought or inspirational message to post as a daily way to encourage or aid readers in their own search for ways to realize their Dreams or simply to enhance the day, I came across this Poem that truly sums up and provides a way to expand our scope of how Huge our dreams can be. Hope you enjoy and benefit from it as much as I did.
"
On a week's first day.
Wandering home from Bible school,
And dawdling on the way.
He scuffed his shoes into the grass;
He even found a caterpillar.
He found a fluffy milkweed pod,
And blew out all the 'filler.'
A bird's nest in a tree overhead,
So wisely placed up so high.
Was just another wonder,
That caught his eager eye.
A neighbor watched his zig zag course,
And hailed him from the lawn;
Asked him where he'd been that day
And what was going on.
'I've been to Bible School,'
He said and turned a piece of sod.
He picked up a wiggly worm replying,
'I've learned a lot about God.'
'M'm very fine way,' the neighbor said,
'for a boy to spend his time.'
'If you'll tell me where God is,
I'll give you a brand new dime.'
Quick as a flash the answer came!
Nor were his accents faint.
'I'll give you a dollar, Mister,
If you can tell me where God ain't.
